Mare Care

KC Paints offers 2 choices in breeding, live coverage and shipped semen.  If you choose live coverage the mare is introduced to the stallion prior to breeding.  KC is a gentle stallion who is never allowed to be aggressive with mares.  He is handled during the entire breeding to ensure the safety of both him and your mare.  If the mare has a foal at her side, the foal is kept close enough so the mare can see it during the breeding.

Our facility is a clean and safe environment with professional people on staff.  The care and well being of your mare will be the most important consideration during her stay with us.  We have a close working relationship with a mobile veterinarian.

Your mare can be delivered to us at anytime, however we encourage you to bring her at least three days prior to her heat cycle so she can settle in the environment and be introduced to the stallion.  After breeding the mare will be check by a veterinarian to confirm pregnancy.  If she is in foal, she can be picked up at anytime.  If the mare is not in foal after the first breeding, the process will be repeated.

All normal handling, boarding, and feeding fees are included in following mare care fees.
